General Aims
To achieve this we encourage children:
To feel happy and secure and to learn to trust and develop attitudes to life in a caring atmosphere.
To develop an understanding of Christian and moral values as well as respect for other cultures.
To develop lively, enquiring and creative minds.
To question and discuss and be enthusiastic about work and play.
To acquire knowledge and to develop the concepts and skills to enable them to reach their full potential.
To follow a broad and balanced curriculum.
To move towards independence, self-motivation and self-discipline in a firm yet caring school ethos.
To learn to live and work with other people, and to care for them and the environment.
To develop a positive self-image and an awareness of the equal worth of individuals.
To take a full and active role in the community, both within school and during their leisure time.
In addition to these general aims we will endeavour to help children:
Become articulate, literate and numerate
Acquire knowledge, skills and practical abilities and, above all, the capacity and will to use them.
Develop a reasoned set of attitudes, values and beliefs.
Acquire knowledge of Christian beliefs and be encouraged to live in accordance with high moral standards.
Develop healthy, fit bodies and equip them with a range of physical skills.
Develop interests and skills, which will enable them to enjoy and make the best use of leisure time.
Understand the multicultural nature of society and foster respect for those of different religions and cultures.
Appreciate achievements in the arts and music and develop an aesthetic awareness.
To develop lively, enquiring, imaginative and creative minds, with the ability to question and discuss rationally.
