Learning About Instructions in Primary 4/5 ✏️🍓
As part of their literacy lessons, Primary 4/5 have been exploring instructional writing and learning about what instructions are used for. They identified key features such as imperative (bossy) verbs, numbered steps, clear sequencing, and time connectives to help make their writing easy to follow.
Using what they had learned, pupils wrote their own detailed set of instructions on ‘How to Make a Fruit Lolly.’ After revising and improving their first drafts, they produced neat final copies. The best part came next—making their very own fruit lollies! It was a fun, hands-on way to bring their writing to life while practising clarity, order, and creativity. 🍉🧃✨
