P1E Costa Book Cafe ☕️
6th Mar 2026
Miss Ewing told us how much she loves going to a cafe, ordering a drink, and relaxing with a good book. So, to celebrate World Book Day, we decided to try it for ourselves with a special classroom cafe experience inspired by Costa Coffee.
Our classroom was transformed into a busy cafe, and some of the children took on important jobs to keep everything running smoothly. We had three brilliant roles in Costa: our barista Myles, our baker Arijus, and our cashier Olivia. They did an amazing job serving everyone and keeping up with the demand – it turned out to be the busiest day they had ever had!
Each child was given 8p and had to carefully decide what they could afford from the cafe menu. They worked out which bun or drink option they could buy, practising their counting and money skills while making their choices.
Once everyone had ordered, we sat down just like customers in a real cafe. We enjoyed our hot chocolate and delicious buns while reading our favourite books together.
A big thank you to Costa Coffee Dungannon for kindly providing the cups for our café. It helped make our classroom feel just like the real thing!
