P1E Make Pumpkin Soup 🎃
Today the children worked together to make delicious pumpkin soup! They were so excited to explore the bright orange pumpkins. They had to scoop out the seeds, chop it up and some noticed how the smell changed as the soup cooked.
Throughout the activity, the children practised important skills…
⭐️Counting and measuring ingredients
⭐️Fine motor skills to chop, stir and pour carefully
⭐️Working together as a team
There were lots of wonderful conversations about where pumpkins come from and how food changes when we cook it.
When the soup was ready, everyone had a taste. The children were so proud of what they had made and many even asked for seconds! Two boys thought that maybe it was more of an acquired taste - but well done for giving it a try! 🥣
