We have been learning about Florence Nightingale. She was a nurse who lived long ago. Florence Nightingale improved hospitals to make them clean and ensure every patient had a bed, fresh bandages and good food to help them get better. Florence was known as “The Lady with the Lamp” because she carried a lamp as she checked on her patients each evening. We used non-fiction books and information websites to help us draw and paint Florence and her lamp. Our role play hospital is very busy with lots of doctors, nurses and patients!
