The boys and girls have been very busy during ABL. This week we have been using oil pastels to create minibeast pictures, using books and photos to help us. We have been creating our own spider webs using paper plates, string and paint. Some of us have been using 2D shapes to make our own minibeast drawings, while others have been building 3D shapes using lollipop sticks and playdough, we created cubes, cuboids, cylinders and pyramids. We have been using Just2Easy to create bar charts of our favourite minibeasts, changing colours and adding a title. We have also been carrying out an experiment, using bicarbonate of soda and vinegar to turn our caterpillars into butterflies-we drew a caterpillar on one side of the balloon and a butterfly on the other. We filled the balloon with bicarbonate of soda and hung it on the top of a bottle to show our caterpillar turning into a chrysalis, we then gently dropped the bicarbonate of soda down into the vinegar to cause a reaction, making our balloon inflate causing our butterfly to emerge. This was lots of fun 😀.
