Snow, Science and Smiles!

21st Nov 2025

This week we made the most of the cold weather and linked it to our World Around Us topic on water. We explored the temperature at which water freezes and discovered that temperatures can even drop into minus numbers! To investigate further, we created our own ice decorations by filling plates with water, adding natural materials, and leaving them outside overnight to freeze. Some pupils were so excited that they even checked the temperature at home to make sure their decorations would freeze!

During the rest of our Forest School session, we worked in teams to build little snowmen — I think we did a fantastic job!
